I purchased this item as a gift for a friend. I am a GIS practitioner and an avid user of the older Garmin CSx76 model. This model is certainly a welcome upgrade, especially having the added feature of the camera. It was just as easy to use, easy to configure for use in my country and aesthetically pleasing too. It has the quite the same user experience as the older model except that it has a very cool touch screen.I am sold. Great value for money.

Very good screen: Screen is readable in the daylight, and sufficient in darker situation. Brighter screen would consume batteries much faster. This model is perfect for hiking. I also purchased Garmin Montana 600, which has larger screen but is much heavier and bulkier. For boaters, where weight and size do not matter, maybe the 600 is better, but 550T is also good for boaters.
